In a world where business and mission often seem at odds, every once in a while, a story comes along that reminds you they can walk hand-in-hand — with clarity, sustainability, and impact.
That’s what it was like working with Josh and Nicole Roloff.
In 2005, they launched a nonprofit called Restoration Now. Their vision was simple but profound: use affluence for influence. Josh, a skilled builder with a heart for justice, spent over a decade in Fort Collins, Colorado, remodeling homes for families in need — transforming not just houses, but lives.

But the story didn’t stop there.
In 2015, after Typhoon Yolanda devastated parts of the Philippines, Josh and Nicole moved their family across the globe to Tacloban. There, alongside local leaders, they helped rebuild a church and a community center — a space that provided education, medical support, and holistic care for a hurting community.
After a year of deep investment and restoration, they returned to Colorado. But they carried more than just memories — they carried a calling. And like many purpose-driven entrepreneurs, they faced a common tension:
How do we build a for-profit business without abandoning our nonprofit passion?
That’s when we sat down together to map out a new way forward.
Through coaching conversations, we dreamed, explored, and ultimately created a strategy that honored both sides of their calling. We called it the 9/3 rhythm:
- 9 months of running their for-profit business, Laurel Street Design + Build
- 3 months of nonprofit work through Restoration Now, focusing on global projects

This rhythm didn’t just preserve their passion — it gave it structure, clarity, and forward motion. Their nonprofit work expanded into Honduras, where they partnered with local communities to build an incredible community center. A place of safety for women. A platform for education. A launchpad for new farming techniques, medical care, and sustainable hope.
This was their dream. My role as a coach was to help bring shape to it — to draw out the vision and align the pieces so they could build with confidence and peace.
It’s one of the great honors of my work: helping business owners stay true to what matters most while thriving in what they’re building.
Because I believe this with all my heart: when you align your work with your why, transformation happens — in your life and in the lives of those you serve.
If you’re a business owner wrestling with how to build something meaningful without losing yourself in the process… if you’re sitting on a vision that feels too big or too tangled to figure out… I’d love to walk with you.
There is a way forward. And it might just be more beautiful than you imagined.
