A Liturgy for My Driven Heart

Some days (I mean daily) I need to remind myself why I do what I do.
I love being an entrepreneur—real estate, coaching, nonprofit work—these roles energize me. But even more important than the work is the posture I bring to it.

It’s easy to ride the highs of success or sink into the lows when things don’t go as planned. But neither of those define me. I’ve simply been entrusted with an opportunity to serve.

This morning’s reading from Every Moment Holy hit me:

“When pride intrudes, when I exult in my seeming success, or in the illusion of my own originality and significance, remind me that there is nothing new under the sun, that all I have been has been granted as a trust.”

Grateful to do this work. And even more grateful to be reminded it’s not all about me.
